Theatre

  • Selected as a playwright for the Bristol Old Vic Early Career Playwrights.  And currently writing ‘Tehran/Bristol’ full length play with Bristol Old Vic Theatre. 

  • Winner of Kevin Elyot Theatre Writing Award 2025/6 to develop my next play Sheida / شیدا  alongside the Kevin Elyot Archive at the Theatre Collection

  • Lullabies ( Artist in resident at Trinity Community Arts Bristol )  community storytelling and song project exploring migration to Bristol through stories of lullaby songs -  featured on BBC Radio 4 and BBC TV News.

  • Circle / دایره Performer/writer  in an immersive touring project created with Squidsoup and refugee communities. Performed at Egg Theatre Bath, Arnoflini, Bristol Beacon, Hull Freedom Festival and Plymouth, Portsmouth - funded by Arts council Touring Fund.

  • Poetry 

  • Still Light (2024)  Poem runner-up, Bournemouth Writing Prize (published in anthology).

  • Diaspora Poetry Festival (2024) — Second place prize for her poem ‘Longing and Belonging’

  • Roxana’s  performed her poems  at Bristol Harbour Festival 2025 

Screenwriting 

  • ‘Trouble Sleeping’ feature film about the expeirences of asylum seekers in Scotland co-written with Palestinian Ghazi Hussein winner of Scottish BAFTA

  • ‘Poets of Protest’ Al Jazeera English - Roxana Story Produced the whole series and directed three of the episodes about the so called ‘Arab Spring’

  • MTV ‘IRAN THE MUSIC NEVER STOPPED’ co-director and story producer

  • Human Again
    Writer/Director of a short film about modern slavery in the UK. Winner: Unchosen Award, Encounters Festival (Audience Award).

  • The Remembered
    Writer/Director in an experimental short film about women accused of witchcraft. Winner: Best Experimental Film, NRFF Amsterdam.

  • Leila Short drama film about a young refugee girl who arrives in Glasgow produced and commissioned by Cineworks Glasgow
